Enhanced Concealed Carry Class Information

We are looking forward to training with you!

Qualification

After you have reserved your class seat, and before the day of class please come to the range to complete your one-on-one shooting qualification with an instructor. You will need a semiautomic pistol and 50 rounds of ammuniton. Rentals are available at the shop. You can complete this anytime we are open for business. No appointments needed.

Your instructor will walk you through every stage of the qualification
You will need to hit 35 of 50 shots on a B27 Target at different ranges
You will fire 20 shots at 3 yards
You will fire 20 shots at 7 yards
You will fire 10 shots at 15 yards

What to Bring

I have an Existing Basic License NOT expiring within 6 months - Please bring $15.00 to class if you are 64 years of age or younger. Please bring $7.50 to class if you are 65 or older. This is the fee the State of Arkansas charges to print your new license. Bring your Driver's License or State ID
I have an Existing Basic License Expiring within 6 months - Bring the confirmation number (or Order ID Number) from your Online Renewal Application. When you completed the Online Application the State sent you an email with this information on it. Bring your Driver's License and Concealed Carry License
I do not have a concealed carry license yet - Bring the confirmation number (or Order ID Number) from your Basic Concealed Carry Application. That link can be found on the Concealed Carry Application Page
I have a license issued by another State and I am Transferring it to Arkansas AND Upgrading to Enhanced - Give us a call and we will walk you through the process. (501) 835-4867. Additional Transfer Instructions Can Be Found Here

Application

Identify Your Circumstance From the List Below

I have an Existing Basic License NOT expiring within 6 months - An upgrade to Enhanced does not require an application prior to class. Your Enhanced License will have the same expiration date as the card you currently possess. Please bring $15.00 to class if you are 64 years of age or younger. Please bring $7.50 to class if you are 65 or older.
I have an Existing Basic License Expiring within 6 months - Complete the Online Renewal Application found here. Your license will be renewed with the Enhanced Endorsement for 5 years. Bring the confirmation number (or Order ID Number) with you to class. Current fee for renewals can be found at the link above.
I do not have a concealed carry license yet - Take the combined Basic and Enhanced Class. When your license is issued it will be the Enhanced License. If you are taking the combined class, no additional state application is required for the Enhanced portion. We will turn in both your Basic and Enhanced Training Certificates once you have completed the course.

Out of State Military with Non-Arkansas Drivers Licenses Only: If your driver's license has letters and/or fewer than 9 numbers, remove letters and add zeros to the beginning of the DL Number. For Example: If your DL was "A1234567" you would enter "001234567" into the application.

Military / Veteran Discounted State Application

The State of Arkansas will be sending you an email asking for a copy of your Military ID and Orders OR your DD-214 to show proof of eligibility. Watch your email for a prompt to send this in.

Persons Born Outside US

The State of Arkansas will be sending you an email asking for a copy of your Green Card or Out of Country Birth Certificate. You do not need to bring these to class, but watch your email for a prompt to send this in.

Time

Saturday morning class starts at 8:00 AM Sharp. Doors open at 7:45 AM. Please arrive in time to get a seat, grab some coffee, and snacks.
Class will be over by 2:00 PM and we will not break for lunch. Feel free to bring any snacks or food you wish. We have a microwave available.
If you have a favorite doughnut, let us know when you sign up for class!

When Will I Receive My License?

The State of Arkansas has 120 days to process the license. However, many people will receive their licenses much sooner. It will come to you in the mail. We do not recommend carrying under your new Enhanced endorsement until you have your actual card in hand.

If this is a "New" License or if you are "Renewing" your license - These take the longest because the State has to re-run background chesks. Different backgrounds take different amounts of time. Most will see theirs issued within 60 days, but this can vary based on workload at the State and is outside the control of Arkansas Armory. However, if its been 60 days or more, give us a call and we can try to help determine what's happening with your license.
If this is simply an "Upgrade to Enhanced" NOT invloving a renewal or new license - These tend to be a little faster because many students get their newly Enhanced license in the mail within 30 days. However, this can vary based on workload down at the state. This is outside our control at Arkansas Armory. However, if its been 60 days or more, give us a call and we can try to help determine what's happening with your license.
